St. Patrick’s Day is all about celebration, where individuals from all around take part on the occasion. Due to its increased participation, the day has a remarkable impact on all people. Every year March 17th is celebrated as St. Patrick’s Day to commemorate the grace of Saint Patrick, the famous saint of Ireland.

The day is proudly celebrated all over the US, Australia, United Kingdom, Canada, Argentina, and other countries. With a varied party thrown around the town, the day is marked with celebration and honor. Charleston is a city in South Carolina, US. Every year St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated here with fun and enthusiasm. Let’s have a look at how Charleston is going to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this year.

The Great Parade:

Charleston conducts the longest parade in the entire Carolina. On Tuesday, March 17th, people from all over will gather near St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 134 Saint Philip Street, Charleston, SC 29403, from 8 a.m. and will start the parade at 10 a.m.

People will wear the same green dresses written with some funky quotes about the special day. This is a traditional event and is emotionally connected to thousands of people. Also, participating in these events is free which propagates increased participation. This parade will help you to connect with new people and increase the fun. This mesmerizing parade will end in the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist.

Traditional Events:

Charleston does everything to ensure a celebration. Along with the traditional parade, they will arrange a varied cultural event. Fireworks, bands, classic Irish songs, Irish dancing, Celtic footwork will accompany the parade and add more liveliness to the usual parade. They will show respect by raising the green, orange, and white, tri-color Irish flag at around 12 o'clock after the parade.

Foods and Drinks:

There is no celebration without foods and drinks, forming the main attraction of the day. Traditional Irish dishes like corned beef with cabbage and Irish stew and other special green drinks, beer, whiskey are the showstoppers. Tommy Condon's Irish pub and restaurant, Mac’s place, Ireland’s own are the best options. People tend to enjoy the entire day drinking in the local pubs despite being on a weekday, as it is St. Patrick's Day.
